It was only when I saw Pink perform live for the first time that I realised what a huge fan I am. If ever you get the chance to go to one of her concerts, drop whatever you’re doing at the time and go go go! Her showmanship is something to behold and I would say is up there with the likes of Jagger, Brian Johnson and dare I say the late Freddy Mercury… Her repertoire is expansive and I was quite surprised by how many of her songs I knew just from listening to the radio.

She is amazingly in tune with her audience, flirting and teasing her way through the show, making you feel as if you are the only one in the room. Cheesy I know, but for the most part it felt like she was jamming just for me; that the pyrotechnics, the band, the sexy back-up singers and out-of-this-world lighting show was for nobody else but me. I wish…

She has evolved as an entertainer from a walking notice board to a more veteran-like rock and roller – bringing it back to what it’s all about: the music. Her hard core exterior has faded and earned some good character, making for a more mature sound that lingers with you for days after the show. She has earned her right to just exist on stage without all of the excess trimmings. Simply put: she is awesome.
