Bo de B in Ciutat Vella is the best cafe to visit for either lining your stomach for a night of heavy drinking or curing you of the worst hangover imaginable. The vibe is chilled and easy-going, making it easy to lounge about at one of the 4 comfy tables or grabbing some healthy grub before a session at Barceloneta beach which is all of 3 minutes away. Geared towards the budget-conscious Bo De B is consistent in delivering high volume good quality food all through the day. A massive plate with salad, feta cheese, veggies, rice, coleslaw, lentils and chicken will cost you €6.50 whilst a chicken roll with pretty much all the above mentioned ingredients will set you back a mere€3.50. All the food is prepared in front of you and they use only the freshest of ingredients. Simply point to something and nod and they will include it in your meal – making sure that you don’t end up with an unwanted nasty that usually gives you the heebie jeebies. The chances of getting a table inside are slim, but if you are lucky enough to get a seat, take some time and park there for a while – it offers a great big glass window for people watching (where the outside crew order their meals). And it being a budget-friendly kind of place catering to a more alternative, studenty market the characters that pull in are something to write home about. Though their intention was never to set a world record with the interior design, there are some cool prints, posters and magazines scattered about to offer some visual stimulation. And with some cool tunes from funky soul to ambient electronic bopping over the stereo Bo De B has been and will continue to be one of the coolest, busiest and cheapest cafe’s in Ciutat Vella.
